What Are Your Favorite Places To Eat In NYC?

Our EIC James will be headed to New York City tomorrow morning for a busy week of work as a secret, undercover agent. Don’t ask questions, just trust that she’s out there doing good things. While secret agents have their very important work cut out for them, they also have to eat, so they don’t get tired or famished whilst on the job. Our question for you is: if you’re a New Yorker (or are a frequent visitor of The Big Apple), where are your favorite spots for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, and dessert? She tends to go to the same places trip after trip (Jack’s Wife Frida being a favorite), and is looking to expand her City of Dreams cuisine.

All suggestions welcome. It could be the best donut in the City, the best dumplings, hole-in-the-wall falafel, street food, pasta dish, lobster roll, grilled cheese sandwich — you get the idea. The only thing to note is that our secret agent is very allergic to red meat. That includes beef, pork, lamb, and the like. So, maybe refrain from the world’s best hotdog or burger suggestions (unless they’re made of turkey), but bring on all the seafood, poultry, grains, vegetables, and sweets — please and thank you!

100% Le Coucou for the French Omelette of your dreams, Sant Ambroeus for Cacio e Pepe (and a cappuccino; maybe at separate times), and Momofuku Milk Bar if you consider a slice of Crack Pie a meal.

Rubirosa pizza is the bomb. Their salads are also life-changing.
Artichoke Basille’s is also good for slices, they have a few locations.

I really don’t get the Cafe Mogador love – it’s ok but not that great… My personal faves in brooklyn are lella alimentari, mesa coyoacan, pheasant. And yes, I am well aware that all three of these spots are within a five minute walk of each other but they are also are fantastic.
