You Wear The Pants, Literally

Earlier this week, Taby Garman both literally and figuratively schooled us on activism in fashion. Particularly, how a few conscious choices by women sporting trousers created a palpable ripple effect throughout history and time. Similar to the plot of Donnie Darko, but without young Jake Gyllenhaal and way less weird. While wearing pants in 2019 might not make the exact same feminist statement that it did in 1800s Paris, putting your pants on one leg at a time and choosing to wear whatever you damn well please makes for one hell of a statement. If you, too, were inspired by Monday’s article, or perhaps if you’re just looking for some uber-chic bottoms to spend a portion of this month’s rent on, we’re back at it again. No, not with the white Vans, but with trousers of all different shapes, colors, and styles to kick your fall fashion season up a notch and to encourage you to “wear the pants” in every situation in life — relationships, career, when standing in line at Sweetgreen, ordering your preferred weekday lunch — you’re in control.
